The under 14 team played their third match of 2013/14 at the Tetherdown Primary School, Muswell Hill against a strong Middlesex team.  Over the top 10 boards we were outgraded by an average of 22 points and the home team made this difference count by winning the first round 9½ to 2½.

The second round was much different with the Essex players displaying an excellent fighting spirit to win the round but sadly not quite scoring enough points to level the match.  The eventual result of a 14-10 loss was a respectable scoreline, especially considering the ground we had to make up after the first round.

Thanks to all the players for all their efforts, including reserves, bringing 16 players to an away fixture shows an excellent level of support.

The full scores are on the SCCU website

The scores between all the Counties in the Eastern Region of the tournament are fairly close so there is still everything to play for in our final match against Surrey.
